76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. was taken to the hospital in Philadelphia on Saturday night after being hit by a car in Centre City and was treated there. He was released from the hospital today, according to an ESPN spokeswoman for the team.

The 27-year-old Oubre was hit by the car earlier that night and was taken to the hospital in stable condition with injuries that were not revealed. The team says he won’t play for the rest of the season, but he will miss a lot of time.

They were at the hospital with him, along with 76ers owner Daryl Morey and other team members.

Based on what the Sixers said, Oubre was hit while walking near his home in downtown Philadelphia.

A police email to The Associated Press said that Oubre was hit around 7 p.m. while crossing the street at Broad and Locust streets in Centre City. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment. Police said that they are still looking into what happened. According to 6ABC in Philadelphia, cops said a silver car left the scene of the accident.

Oubre signed a one-year deal with the Sixers in September after leaving the Charlotte Hornets. He shoots 50% from the field and scores 16.3 points per game for Philadelphia this season. In his nine years in the NBA, he is playing better than ever for the Sixers this season, even after P.J. Tucker left in the James Harden trade.
