“D’Angelo Russell leads Lakers to thrilling victory over the Bucks without LeBron James”

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 123-122 on Friday night. The Lakers did it without their star player LeBron James, who couldn’t play due to his left ankle injury.

D’Angelo Russell stepped up for the Lakers, scoring 44 points, including 21 points in the fourth quarter. Russell hit a go-ahead jumper with 5.9 seconds remaining in the game to secure the win for the Lakers.

Russell had an outstanding game, tying his career-high with nine 3-pointers and nine assists. He scored eight points in the final 1:13 to help the Lakers rally from a late deficit.

On the other side, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 34 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists for the Bucks. Damian Lillard scored 28 points, including eight points in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t save the Bucks from their second consecutive loss.

Milwaukee took the lead for the first time since early in the second quarter when Antetokounmpo scored a jumper with 2:53 left in the game. Lillard scored a four-point play two possessions later, but Russell didn’t let the Bucks take a comfortable lead and trimmed the Bucks’ lead to one point with a three-point play with 39 seconds left in the game. Spencer Dinwiddie blocked Lillard’s step-back jumper at the buzzer to preserve the win for the Lakers.
