“Donovan Mitchell’s Knee Injury May Keep Him Out Longer Than Expected, Says Coach Bickerstaff”

Donovan Mitchell, an All-Star guard, may be out of the game for longer than initially estimated due to a knee injury.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff provided some details on Tuesday night, saying that the injury, which the team referred to as a bone bruise, had developed over time. Mitchell is Cleveland’s top scorer and had led the team during a difficult period of injuries.

He will miss at least three games and could miss more. Bickerstaff expects him to return within a month, but the team will reevaluate after three games to determine the best course of action.

The injury seems to have developed over a few weeks due to wear and tear, similar to tendinitis. Mitchell’s platelet-rich plasma injection on Monday may speed his recovery.

The Cavs, currently third in the Eastern Conference, will have to play without their best player and leader for the time being.
