Former NBA Forward Nemanja Bjelica Announces Retirement from Professional Basketball

Nemanja Bjelica, a former forward for the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, has retired from professional basketball.

In an Instagram post, Bjelica announced that he felt the need to “officially announce that the end has come” after playing for 20 years. The 35-year-old Serbian player started his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015 before moving to Sacramento in 2018.

He then joined the Miami Heat before signing with the Warriors in the 2021 offseason, where he helped them win the 2022 NBA championship. In his retirement statement, Bjelica thanked his coaches and colleagues who’ve supported him throughout his career.

While he’s not sure what he’ll do next, he expressed his love for basketball and a desire to continue being part of the sport.
