Former NBA Star Bryn Forbes Arrested for Alleged Assault in San Antonio

NBA Player Bryn Forbes Arrested for Felony Assault in San Antonio

Bryn Forbes, a seasoned NBA player with seven seasons under his belt, recently faced legal trouble back in San Antonio. He played most recently with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Disturbance at WaterWalk Apartments

Police responded to a disturbance at the WaterWalk at The Rim apartments on the Northwest Side. The incident involved Forbes, who went to the apartment of the mother of his children. She reported an on-and-off relationship spanning 13 years. Forbes allegedly banged on her window while she was asleep. When she opened the door, he reportedly assaulted and choked her. Fortunately, she managed to escape and seek help.

Previous Legal Issue

This is not Forbes’ first encounter with the law. He faced a family violence charge a year ago, on Feb. 15, 2023. However, the charge was dismissed after he completed a pretrial diversion program.

Basketball Career

Forbes, known for his college basketball days at Michigan State, joined the NBA in 2016 with the Spurs. He played under Gregg Popovich for years, contributing to the 2021 Milwaukee championship team. Forbes also had stints with the Nuggets before joining the Timberwolves this season. Minnesota waived him on Feb. 9, a day after the trade deadline.
