“Jrue Holiday signs four-year contract extension with Boston Celtics”

Jrue Holiday, the star point guard for the Boston Celtics, has agreed to a four-year contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The new deal will keep him with the team through the 2027-28 season, and he will earn an average annual salary of $33.75 million, totaling $135 million over the four years. Holiday had a player option in his previous contract for the 2024-25 season that would have paid him $37.36 million, but he chose to sign the extension instead of becoming an unrestricted free agent.

The extension will help the Celtics save money against the salary cap while securing their star player for the long term, which will contribute to keeping the current roster intact.
