LeBron James Breaks Down Strategies to Defend Against Talented Big Men

LeBron James and JJ Redick host a podcast called Mind the Game, and on the second episode, they discussed basketball strategies. Redick asked LeBron about the inverted pick-and-roll, which is when a big man handles the ball while a smaller player sets the screen.

LeBron discussed how to defend against this play when a skilled big man, such as Draymond Green, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kristaps Prozingis, or Nikola Jokic, is involved. He explained that it is challenging to guard when these players are involved, especially Jokic, who is known for his passing skills.

LeBron was impressed with these skilled bigs as they are challenging to play against. However, if the playoffs started today, the Los Angeles Lakers would be in the Play-In Tournament and would face Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the first round. This could lead to LeBron growing tired of discussing how to stop this exact play.
