NBA Imposes $35,000 Fine on LA Clippers Coach Ty Lue Over Referee Outburst

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has fined the coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, Tyronn Lue, $35,000. The fine came after Lue accused the referees of cheating following his team’s win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

The NBA released a statement explaining that Lue had been fined for publicly criticizing and questioning the integrity of game officials. The Clippers won the game 130-125 in San Francisco, after a chaotic match where they came back from nine points down.

Lue was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter and was later seen in a video shouting in the corridor near the Clippers locker room. In the footage, he accused the referees of cheating and was heard saying that he wanted to kick one of them, James Williams, in the mouth.
