Zach LaVine Out for Season, Set for Foot Surgery” Potential Offseason Trade”

Zach LaVine will be sidelined for the rest of the season due to upcoming foot surgery.

The Chicago Bulls disclosed that LaVine will undergo surgery on his right foot, with an expected recovery time of four-to-six months, starting next week.

LaVine’s last game was on January 18, and he participated in only 25 games during the 2023-24 season, averaging 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

Despite trade discussions revolving around LaVine, the surgery hinders any immediate move before the offseason.

Currently under contract until 2025-26, with a player option for 2026-27 and an average salary of $43 million, his substantial contract has been a hurdle in trade talks.

The Bulls, currently 23-26 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, face challenges in serious contention.

LaVine’s pending surgery might impact his potential trade value, but delaying the move until the offseason could attract more teams willing to take on his contract.
