On Sunday afternoon, there was a deadly one-vehicle collision that included a motorbike, and both the Garda and Emergency Services personnel responded to the site. The crash had place on the R262 close to Glenties just before 4 in the afternoon. The biker, a man in his late 40s, got medical treatment at the scene of the accident, nevertheless, a short time later, it was determined that he had passed away.

On the R262 between Kilraine and Frosses, the road is temporarily restricted to traffic, and local diversions have been put into place. It has been requested that Garda Forensic Collision Investigators investigate the scene, and after they have finished, a report will be given to the local Coroner.

Gardai in Glenties are requesting that anyone who may have seen the collision get in touch with them as soon as possible. Road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who have camera footage (including dash cam footage) to share with the Garda are being asked to make it available to them.
