Jurong townhall accident, truck runs over motorcycle rider female dead

An accident that occurred in the early morning hours of 18 October in Jurong East claimed the life of a woman who was riding pillion on a motorbike.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the collision that involved a motorbike, a tipper truck and a lorry took occurred along Jurong Town Hall Road when it was heading in the direction of Bukit Batok Road.

A reporter who arrived at the site found a motorbike that had been flipped over on the road, and personal goods that had been stored in the box were scattered about the area.

It was thought that the motorbike rider and the passenger riding pillion were a couple.

During the time when evidence was being gathered from the scene, the lanes were blocked off by the police.

In addition, five law enforcement officers were spotted directing traffic in the vicinity, and the driver of the tipper truck was observed sitting by the side of the road while assisting with the investigation.

However, the reporter for the Chinese evening newspaper did not spot the lorry in that location.

Shin Min was informed by the management of the business that owns the tipper truck that the vehicle is equipped with five cameras, and that the footage from those cameras has been sent to the police by the business.

After the incident, the motorcyclist and his passenger were apparently ejected from their vehicle and into the path of the dump truck, as he stated.

The motorist was unable to stop in time and drove over the woman who was walking in the street.

“We are very sad to learn that she had died,” according to him.

In response to questions posed by media on Wednesday, the police said that around 7.40 in the morning, they were made aware of an accident that included a motorbike and a tipper truck.

According to news report, the Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that the female pillion rider, who was 38 years old, was pronounced dead at the site by a paramedic, and that inquiries into the incident are still underway.

In the meantime, the biker, who was 38 years old, was transported to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital while he was still conscious.
