5 people were hit by the car accident in Burwood, Sydney Inner West overnight. The Five Pedestrian were seriously wounded and taken to the hospital. 

Burwood Footpath Accident – After what is believed to have been a hit-and-run incident in Sydney’s Inner West overnight, five pedestrians have been brought to the hospital for treatment.

On Burwood Road in Burwood at approximately 12.25 in the morning, shocking video captures the moment a Ford Ranger with a temporary license plate smashed into a parked Toyota Camry, then mounted the footpath, and hit five pedestrians in addition to another parked car. The Camry, which was being used as a rideshare vehicle at the time of the collision, was in the process of accepting a fare, according to the police.

The pedestrians were in critical condition after suffering head, leg, and chest injuries. Paramedics provided treatment for them. The people who were driving the Camry were also assessed and treated at the scene before being sent to the hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

A 19-year-old male with a provisional driving license was driving the Ranger when he was pulled over and arrested. He was transported to the Burwood Police Station.

The young driver told the police that he passed out while driving, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. He was questioned all through the night at the police station, after which he was eventually let go pending the outcome of further inquiries. During the course of the inquiry, which was still ongoing, the police set up a crime scene.
