Wally’s Journey: Embracing Life on Three Legs
Wally, a two-month-old kitten, was found badly hurt, probably from being hit by a car. He was saved by Baby Kitten Rescue, which gave him a second chance at life. Caroline Grace, who started Baby Kitten Rescue, says Wally was always a sweet and gentle boy, even though he had a rough start in life. Sadly, his hurt leg lost all nerve function and had to be amputated. But after surgery, Wally did great as a kitten with three legs. He felt instantly better because he didn’t have to drag his hurt arm around.
Wally wore a jumper over his cut after surgery to protect it. He healed while happily moving around on the floor. After two weeks, he was ready to play and explore, and he even met Chester, the house cat. Wally became more sure of himself as he learned how to get around the house. He quickly became friends with Otter, another former foster cat.
Caroline started looking for the right home for Wally as soon as he was fully better. She wanted a quiet, stable place with a family who would love, care for, and give him time. Ideally, this house would also have a cat to help him feel better about himself.

After a week, Beth and John took a trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to meet Wally. They slowly won his trust over the course of more than two hours. Wally was purring in their laps by the end of the meeting, which meant he had found his forever home.
Beth and John welcomed Wally into their family, along with their two cats, one of which is also a tripod. They promised that they would give him all the love and care he needs. Caroline told Wally how happy she was, “I’m so glad he gets to live his best life, full of safety, joy, and love.” Wally’s story shows how important love, patience, and second chances can be.
