Blackpink’s Lisa Declines RM176 Million Deal from YG Entertainment

According to recent reports, Lisa, a member of the K-pop girl group Blackpink, has just declined a second offer to renew her contract from the record firm YG Entertainment. As per Allkpop’s source, the Thai rapper allegedly turned down an offer of RM176 million from YG, putting the future of the female group up in the air.

After celebrating their seventh anniversary last year, fans are understandably concerned that there has been no news regarding the renewal of Blackpink’s contract, which will expire this year. YG Entertainment denied reports in July that Lisa had cancelled her August schedule as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of her contract, stating instead that the matter was “currently under discussion.”

There are rumours going around that Lisa is getting good deals from other countries, particularly from her country of origin, Thailand. In the meantime, Blackpink are currently wrapping up the Born Pink global tour, which is a commitment that they made in a contract and are required to fulfil.

On September 16 and 17, the final shows of the tour will be held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Many of the band’s loyal fans believe that these shows will be their last performances together as a unit.

Given that they are the most successful girl group in South Korea at the moment, the decision to extend their contract with YG will almost certainly have a huge effect on the South Korean music industry.

Blackpink made their debut in 2016, with members Rose, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie making up the group.

After the release of smash singles such as “Boombayah,” “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” “Kill This Love,” and “How You Like That,” they experienced a rapid rise to the top of the K-pop music industry. Members of Blackpink have also enjoyed success in their own musical careers and have shattered a number of music and world records.
