Fentanyl Ingestion Bronx Day care, 1 child dead & 3 other in Hospital
The discovery of drug equipment at a creche in the Bronx, a one-year-old boy lost his life and three other kids were taken to the hospital.
On Friday afternoon, reports of a cardiac arrest at Divino Nino Daycare on 2707 Morris Avenue in Kingsbridge prompted the dispatch of emergency personnel.
The one-year-old boy’s death and the hospitalisation of three other young children are believed to have been caused by drug manufacture equipment discovered inside the home-based day care.
Following the death of the youngster, Nicholas Dominici, officers executing a search warrant inside the house found a kg press.
During an evening press conference, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny stated that drug dealers frequently use this device when packing big amounts of cocaine.
It is uncertain what kind of medicines might be produced or how the kids might have come into contact with them.

According to NYPD Police Commissioner Edward Caban, “We don’t exactly know what happened to those babies.”
The victims “came into contact with a potent substance, which can either be inhaled, consumed, or in contact with the skin and intoxicate the recipient,” according to health commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan. We are unaware of what transpired in this instance.
After the kids had eaten and napped, according to the police, it happened. At Montefiore, a one-year-old boy was declared dead. A two-year-old boy’s condition is critical. Two additional two-year-old boys and an eight-month-old girl were also taken urgently to the hospital. It is unclear if the person is a nursery employee.
Dominici’s cause of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the Medical Examiner, and the surviving children’s blood and urine will be collected by the medical professionals in an effort to identify the medications they may have been exposed to.
Investigation and Potential Charges
Detectives are questioning two people, including the woman in charge of Divino Nino Day Care at the time of the incident and an unnamed guy.
The day care, which serves children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old, just started operating in January and just got through a surprise inspection by city inspectors last week without any problems being discovered.
Yesterday, investigators discovered that the kids seem to have been exposed to the unidentified opioids over a long period of time. The mother of a two-year-old kid who left for home at approximately 12:15 p.m. subsequently discovered him to be “acting lethargic and unresponsive.” His life was saved by the opioid-reversal drug Narcan at the hospital after his mother brought him there.
According to officials, the kids that stayed at the creche ate around 1 p.m. and then napped. Three of them were unconscious when employees tried to wake them up around 2:30 p.m.
The Bronx is where all of the youngsters that were hospitalised reside. All are unrelated.
The fire brigade checked the air for any environmental dangers after the kids were taken from the daycare, but they were unable to detect any carbon monoxide. The drug packaging device was discovered after authorities searched the rooms, closets, and other areas after developing suspicions about opioid exposure.
Authorities said the creche was housed in a converted flat, and they were still looking into whether anyone still lived there.
