Tallaght Hit and Run Today Women Age 80 Dead
Tallaght, Dublin – This morning in Tallaght, a hit-and-run accident resulted in the death of an elderly pedestrian. At the intersection of Fortunestown Way and Cheeverstown Road is where the incident took place just before 11:00 in the morning. It was determined that the pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, had passed away at the scene of the accident.
Since then, her body has been transported to the City Mortuary in Whitehall, where a post mortem examination is scheduled to take place at a later time. Garda have since located and collected the vehicle, which had first fled the site of the accident without stopping, and it will now be subjected to a thorough inspection from a technical standpoint.

Gardai have verified that the road in question is currently closed so that Forensic Collision Investigators can conduct their investigation at this time, they are making an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
A spokeswoman for the Garda stated, “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who may have information to please get in touch with us.”
“Any road users or pedestrians who may have video footage (including dash-cam film) and who were travelling on Fortunestown Way or Cheeverstown Road this morning between 10:30 and 11:15 am are invited to make this footage available to Garda. This request applies to both road users and pedestrians.”
